7-Eleven convenience store to reopen
Slurpee lovers will be happy to hear that the 7-Eleven convenience store at the southeast corner of Jadwin and Van Giesen plans to reopen next week.

The boarded-up convenience store has been a concern for several residents who have commented on Facebook, so Molly Petersen stopped by and talked to workers inside. Petersen reports that the business will reopen next week under cooperate management with reduced hours, but the week after that the company hopes to have it opened 24-7.
Riverfront Hotel Improvements

Walkers on the river path south of Howard Amon Park may have noticed new landscaping at the Riverfront Hotel.
The hotel is preparing for outdoor events with a new gazebo and landscaping, according to Char Garza at the hotel in a telephone interview with the Observer.
In addition, the Riverfront plans to open a new restaurant in December that will have indoor and outdoor dining, Garza said.
Not so visible from outside, renovation work on the hotel’s suites, interrupted by COVID, has been restarted, Garza reported.
