The Alegre, a Fortify Holdings Inc. hotel to apartment conversion in Pasco has some eye-catching murals on the outside.
The murals, painted by Goonie Wolfe and Anthony N. Ortega face I-182 from the apartment complex at the corner of Idaho and Oregon Streets in the industrial area of east Pasco.
The Observer reached out to Wolfe and Ortega for more information about the murals, but they did not respond to messages. Ortega did post this on Instagram,
According to The Alegre website, a 202-square-foot apartment is now renting for $995 to $1,145 and the complex offers two months free for anyone signing a nine-month lease.

Fortify purchased five hotels in the Tri-Cities in 2021 to convert to apartments. The Alegre is the second one to be remodeled and ready for occupancy.
The Franklin, on 1515 George Washington Way in Richland is also renting but at a higher price for larger apartments. The 316-square-foot apartments at The Franklin rent for $1250 to $1395.
Both apartments are pet friendly. The Franklin’s amenities include an indoor pool, a fitness center and a restaurant. The Alegre lists a pool as “coming soon.”
I didn’t know that.
Hi Leona, I’m glad the Observer was able to provide an update. Thank you for being a loyal reader. Randy
The layout of The Franklin apartments is bad, compared to other apartments charging the same amount. There is no space in these units. Not sure there are closets. The kitchens are small. No room to have guests. Couch in the layout plans is a 2 seater and 2 chairs at the eating table. If you do have guests, your bedroom isn’t secluded. I don’t know who they anticipate will move into these. People that can afford the rent will not want to live in those apartments.
Hi Renee, It will be interesting to see how well The Franklin rents. There are 200 apartments in there! Thank you for reading the Observer.
